Description:

This double dose of sonic discovery was produced by composer, vocalist and pianist Stephen Fandrich. The first disc, Honing, was recorded in the Fort Warden State Park underground cistern made famous by the Deep Listening Band's Pauline Oliveros and Stuart Dempster. The enveloping resonance of the cistern enhances this a cappella choir in its natural effect. Disc two, Live, was performed live in the studio for Sonarchy Radio at Jack Straw Productions, engineered by Doug Haire, and broadcast on KEXP FM Seattle.

Harmonic Voice is an expression of harmonic singing in the North West United States. It is a dynamic mixture of wide open meditative space, structured improvisation and acute compositional detail. This Debut Cd is destined to be heard by all who have a curiosity for overtone singing.

With reverence to the powerful essence of overtone singing brought to us in the last century, Harmonic Voice brings new possibilities to the immerging musical entity of the last 40 years in the west, known as a harmonic choir.
